Belief #13. Remnant and Its Mission

The universal church is composed of all who truly believe in Christ, but in the last days, a time of widespread apostasy, a remnant has been called out to keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus. This remnant announces the arrival of the judgment hour, proclaims salvation through Christ, and heralds the approach of His second advent. The "remnant" in the Bible refers to those who remain faithful to God during hardship. For end times, it denotes believers loyal to God before Christ's Second Coming, as described in Revelation 12:17.

This belief involves understanding the remnant’s biblical role, their mission, and its implications today.

The Remnant and Its Mission

The universal church includes all true believers. During widespread apostasy in the last days, a remnant is called to uphold God's commandments and Jesus' faith, proclaiming the judgment hour and Christ's return. This message is depicted by the three angels of Revelation 14, urging repentance worldwide. (See Dan. 7:9-14; Rev. 12:17)

The Word "Remnant" in the Bible

Biblical stories often showcase God’s call for safety, like Noah’s story. As wickedness prevails before Christ's return, God’s faithful will reject worldly ways, forming the end-times remnant.

The End-Times Remnant

The remnant is identified by their adherence to God's commandments, avoiding sin despite Earth’s growing wickedness. Revelation symbolises this struggle between Satan and God’s people. God calls them to separate from evil, represented by Babylon, as forewarned in Revelation.

The Remnant’s Mission

The remnant must proclaim the gospel globally. The three angels’ messages (Revelation 14) warn about worshipping God, Babylon’s fall, and rejecting the beast’s mark, urging allegiance to God.

Showing Allegiance to God

We demonstrate allegiance through love and care as outlined in Scripture. Regardless of when Christ returns, our lives should reflect readiness for His Second Coming.

The remnant’s mission involves preparing others for this event by sharing God’s love and truth. Through this, we contribute to saving as many as possible before the end.
