Belief #9. Life, Death, and Resurrection of Christ

Adventists believe that, although humanity is sinful, God's love devised a plan for redemption through Jesus Christ. God's only Son was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life as both God and man, died in our place, and rose again to reconcile us with God. Jesus' life serves as an example, His death as a substitutional sacrifice, and His resurrection as a triumph over sin and death.
  1. Jesus' Dual Nature: Jesus is both divine and human, living a perfect life so His sacrifice could redeem humanity from sin.
  2. Jesus' Struggles: Jesus experienced human struggles and relied on the Holy Spirit, setting an example to follow.
  3. Christ’s Ministry: Jesus' ministry was marked by service, healing, and teaching, especially among the marginalized, reflecting God's love.
  4. Jesus' Death and Resurrection: He died a criminal's death to atone for our sins, embodying ultimate love and sacrifice. He conquered death, affirming God’s victory over evil and ensuring eternal life for believers.
Adventists view Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection as foundational to understanding God's love and plan for humanity's salvation. This belief encourages a personal relationship with Jesus and hope in His promised return.
