God Says:

• The LORD God commanded the man, "You are free to eat from any tree in the garden; but you must not eat from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil, for when you eat of it you will surely die".

It could be argued that Adam and Eve could not follow this command because they did not yet know good and evil, and anything told to them, including the words from the Serpent, could be followed because they did not know whether it was good or bad (evil).

The Serpent Says:

• You will not certainly die,” the serpent said to the woman. “For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil.”

What was the result?
1. Adam and Eve did not certainly die, at least not until almost a millennium of living.
2. Genesis 3:22: "Behold, the man has become like one of Us, knowing good and evil." This is exactly what the Serpent claimed.

It seems like the serpent was right to a great extent, and God was not.

So, what exactly was Eve's fault? She did not have the knowledge of good and bad (evil) at this point, and it is only by eating the fruit, in fact, after Adam ate the fruit, that they got this knowledge.

Someone help me understand this.

The average SDA does not understand the difference between the term "muwth" and the term "muwth muwth"

We think "muwth" means to "die" to experience "Death" and we term the other "a second death"

I have come to learn from EGW that death is a separation, so there are two separations.

1) A temporary separation, known as sleep but God is still connected to your grave experience.
2) A more permanent separation, known as Shaowl where things cease to exist.

So if we consider "Death" as a separation from God, did the couple immediately experience as separation of powers flowing into them by God? The answer is yes.

Adam and Eve were clothed physically with solid radiant colours of light like a garment.
When they sinned the HS immediately shrunk inside them as a Medium for the Breath of Life, and they saw their nakedness.

It is my two pennies the penal gland - the third eye- immediately stop functioning....

So that is physical immediate change -

Than the emotions changed immediately - the couple became fearful and prideful

Than the spiritual relationship changed - they became their own providers - making a covering over their bodies


Question: is it necessary for GOD to do dysfunction in order to know dysfunction?

Can I a person who has never smoked a cigarette claim to know what the emotions of smoking is?
Should I smoke in order to experience such dysfunction or do I know it already?
The same applies to drugs, should I do drugs in order to experience the emotions of this experience?

If you study the temptations of Jesus by the Devil, it is not necessary to know all experiences -
If you know pride than this emotion is found in all other dysfunction experiences

If you know good, by definition you can know bad without having to actually experience it. (it's an opposite)

The couple were warned every Sabbath about the Deceiver and His arum nature of mixing truth and error
So why did Eve listen?

The emotion to desire is a Bible right, so Eve desired more? But why? She listened that there could be more?
If love is all the emotions of bliss there are - what is there to desire that is more?

So Eve was deceived.

We have been deceived to think self human powers is natural in us, but this is a myth. Such human powers of self are actually powers of Satan that flow to us automatically by Satan, as He forces his powers unto us without our free will. So we assume that self is a natural part of humanity. This is a myth.

When God created Eve with love - He gave her all there was for bliss. Free will has nothing more to offer. The serpent who spoke to her was offering a lie and this deceived her. Hope this helps. Shalom

I understand the Hebrew term for "thou shalt surely die" in Genesis 2:17 is "mot tomut"(מות תמות), which literally means "dying you shall die". This implies the certainty of death, both spiritually and physically.

I would, however, appreciate it if you clarified exactly how the serpent lied. Help me deconstruct the serpent's lie.

Jeff says the serpent deceived the woman with the truth. An interesting idea. Arum - the Devil's nature is the idea of mixing truth with error, so Jeff Benner (my friend) is already wrong with the Serpents nature.

So how did the Serpent lie? Define the sin - the serpent did ?

Ex 23:1 ¶ Thou shalt not raise a false report:

Contrary to SDA thinking, the judgements are examples of how the moral law is to be interpreted.

A witness to truth never slanders or makes twisted the actual truth of a subject.

Gen 3:1 And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?

This is already making a false witness - so Jeff Benner is wrong already. The serpent is asking a double negative question.

The other lie is the serpent said you will not muwth muwth, because the Devil did not muwth muwth when he sinned first, so God must be lying??

The problem is GOD is kind and loving so the muwth muwth imposed on the Devil is not yet completed - probation continues.

And the probation continued for Adam and Eve after they sin almost more than 900 years.

So what immediate dying happened to Eve ?

That is a problem for Adam, because since he was prince of earth, He had to sin also for affects to happen to earth. Not just his subject, and Eve was his subject. So he had to fall first before sin affects too place. This might explain when he looked at Eve he saw not bad effect from eating the fruit. she still have her covering of light. (See EGW comments)

One affect was the immediate dying of human/God relationship - the HS shrank around Eve making her naked - after Adam sinned. They became fearful - dying of trust. They became providers - not longer relied on God.
They were afraid - dying relationships to God - They blamed others - a sense of pride.

The touching of fruit as well as eating the fruit bothers me - why did Eve add extra details? Dunno?
