Praying directly to the Holy Spirit?

Does anybody remember any quote by EW about praying directly to the Holy Spirit?
Or do you remember any description of EW doing something like that?
I ask this because recently I heard smb praying to the Holy Spirit and I could not remember any biblical reference about sth like this or any EW quote.
I can understand the logic behind that: people say that if the Holy Spirit is God, then why I can not pray to the Holy Spirit directly?
Thanks in advance for any contribution to the topic.

Yes. I know this. But if smb comes and says that he/she can pray to the Holy Spirit because he is God, the 3rd person of the Godhead, what can you say? We also have songs, like prayers, dedicated to the Holy Spirit.

An interesting question.
While no Bible verse tells us to pray to the Holy Spirit, we could, and should pray FOR the Holy Spirit to enter our lives: Let's review a few things:

Jesus taught his disciples to pray to the Father in Matthew 6, "but when you pray, go into your room, close the door and pray to your father who is unseen."

He also says in John 14:6, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.

In Romans 8:26-27, the English Standard Version 2016 (ESV) asserts, "For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words. And he who searches hearts knows what is the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints according to the will of God."
White explains this by asswering that We must not only pray in Christ's name, but by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit. This explains what is meant when it is said that the Spirit “maketh intercession for us, with groanings which cannot be uttered.” Such prayer God delights to answer.

See also this verse: "If ye then, being evil, know how to give good gifts unto your children: how much more shall your heavenly Father give the Holy Spirit to them that ask him?" Luke 11:13.

While the three are one, each has different roles, that's why I believe we should pray to God the Father through Jesus, and ask for the Holy Spirit to dwell in our lives.

Nonetheless, God always knows the desires of our hearts, and when you pray to the Holy Spirit, God will hear you. But it would feel out of place for me to pray to the Holy Spirit than than for the Holy Spirit.

We pray to the Father to fill us with the Holy Spirit who will help us ask for the right things.
The Holy Spirit intercedes on our behalf and makes our prayers packaged well before God who grants us our desires.

While I agree with your application of the scriptures as to being in the spirit to pray, nowhere in scripture calls us to pray to the Holy Spirit. We are to pray in the spirit to the Father through and in the name of Jesus. Praying to the Holy Spirit is not the same as Praying to God. This is a dangerous and erroneous doctrine now coming into the church. Ellen white also never stated or implied to pray to the Holy Spirit. Jesus our one and only example always prayed to the Father. We should ask God for his Spirit that we may know what to pray for. Please let us not add to or take away from God's word. If he wanted us to pray to the Holy Spirit Jesus would have said to and done it. We must stop playing spiritual gymnastics with God's word. Just because out leaders are doing this and though they claim amazing blessings we should question the spirit as scripture tells us. At no other time in Adventist history has this idea been promoted. Neither by scripture nor by Ellen White. Let Jesus be your only example

There is no quote nor any scripture to support this new tracking. This is just another form of pentecostalism creeping into the church. Jesus set the example by praying directly to our heavenly Father. This we should do. We are told to ask God for his Spirit everyday. We are further told to pray in the spirit in scripture. Not to the Spirit but in the spirit. Please be weary of this false teaching of praying to the Spirit entering the church. It is based on emotionaliism not scripture nor the spirit of prophecy.
