There is a 34 page document called "Out-Post-Centres-1.pdf published by the SDA General Secretariat by David Trim,
and the document is disturbing to say the least.
“If God gives me strength,
I shall be in the cities”
Ellen G. White, “outpost centers,”
and mission work in cities

Country Living, published in 1946
“‘Out of the cities; out of the cities!”—this is the
message the Lord has been giving me. The earth-
quakes will come; the floods will come; and we are
not to establish ourselves in the wicked cities, where
the enemy is served in every way, and where God is so
often forgotten.”
Country Living, 31

Letter to Haskell from Australia,

“I have a few words to say in regard to what you say about
building a home in Stanmore. This, my brother, will
never be. The bubonic plague is in Sydney, and is steadily
developing. There are fresh cases every day. From the
experience I have recently had, nothing could induce me
to locate in Sydney or any of the suburbs.”

Rob" So there is suggested here by the presentation that the reason given to live away from the cities is because of rare cases when cities have terrible diseases in them?
Outpost Centers
“We are to remember the cities that have been neglected
and that must now be worked. . . . We are to be wise in
securing advantages already provided that the Lord
desires us to have. We are to be as wise as serpents and as
harmless as doves in our efforts to secure country
properties at a low figure, and from these outpost centers
we are to work the cities.”
MS 119, 1902 and Lt. 157, 1902
Rob: On page 22 is the only honest and positive balance on this theme.
“I shall be in the cities”
“If God gives me strength
now, at nearly eighty-two
years old, I shall be in the
cities.”
Now where are the people
that will be ready to go out
into the city?”
MS 127, July 27, 1909
On the last concluding page
Rob: Now this document is misleading for many reasons.
Mt 24:15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:

It is my understanding Bible prophecy tells us when to leave the cities, got nothing to do with disease.
This a type for us to follow and EGW talks about this.
We are supposed to leave during the first Sunday siege that happened in the USA in 1888 and before the second Sunday siege happens in the USA very very soon. This out of the cities message, is in obedience to Bible prophecy, nothing to do with EGW comments on diseases in a cities. The general SDA does not witness in the cities is my observation (over 45 years) - such SDA people and Pastors too!!, fail even to acknowledge their own SDA colleagues outside of SABBATH hours, let alone do any form of witnessing.
