Jesus is coming soon. This imminent hope is the heartbeat of 10 Days of Prayer 2026: UNLEASHED! This year’s theme is a passionate call to move beyond merely talking about the Holy Spirit to finally opening the Gift that Jesus promised - the transformative, earth-shaking power of the Holy Spirit in our lives.

For too long, God's people have treated the Holy Spirit as an unopened present: studied, analyzed, but never fully experienced. Yet, Scripture is clear: only the Spirit can renew our hearts, transform our families, and connect us to God as His children. He is the key to the revival we desperately need.

Drawing inspiration from Jonathan and his armor-bearer, who stepped out in faith and watched God make the ground tremble, we are called to similar boldness. We are invited to pray, “O God, what would give You a reason, 10 days in a row, to make the ground tremble?” Like the 120 believers in the Upper Room at Pentecost, we are to gather, wait, and expect the Holy Spirit to unleash us as fearless witnesses for Christ.

This is not just a program; it is a new lifestyle of Spirit-led discipleship.

How to Engage in This 10-Day Mission​

The journey is structured to cultivate personal, relational, and communal revival through three daily commitments:

1. Time Alone with God: Begin each day in personal devotion, meeting God in His Word through private prayer and Bible study.
2. Family/Friend Circle: Gather your immediate family or close friends for shared worship, prayer, and spiritual connection.
3. Church Family: Join your entire church community each evening for a multi-generational prayer session designed to unite all ages in seeking God.

A Practical Blueprint for Powerful Gatherings​

To ensure maximum impact, the event provides a clear, intergenerational model for the nightly church meetings:

• Fellowship First: Begin with a light supper to foster community, as seen in the early church.
• Prayer-Centric Worship: The meeting is built around worship through prayer—thanking God, confessing, and asking in faith.
• Active Participation for All Ages: Participants are seated in small groups of six, each co-led by an adult and a youth. The focus is on short, heartfelt prayers and discussions that allow everyone, including children, to contribute.
• Authentic Leadership: Leaders are called to prepare spiritually, share personal testimonies of Christ's power, and surrender all plans to the leading of the Holy Spirit.

The goal is not merely ten days of prayer, but a catalyst for lasting mission. A "What's Next?" Meeting immediately follows to channel this newfound spiritual momentum into ongoing service for your community and the world.

Day 1: Know Jesus as Our Living Savior​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 1:1-3

Theme​

To establish a foundational, personal faith by recognizing and experiencing Jesus Christ not as a historical figure, but as a living, active Savior who is present in our lives today.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Reality of the Resurrection: The day's focus is on the "convincing proofs" (Acts 1:3) of Jesus' resurrection. He spent 40 days after His death appearing to His disciples, teaching them, and solidifying their faith in His victory over death.
• From Witnesses to Witnesses: The disciples' encounter with the living Christ transformed them from confused followers into confident witnesses. Ellen White emphasizes that during this time, Jesus "opened their understanding" of the Scriptures, showing how His life, death, and resurrection fulfilled prophecy and equipped them for their global mission (The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 26, 27).
• A Personal, Knowing Faith: The goal is to move beyond secondhand knowledge to a personal conviction, enabling us to say, like Paul, "I know whom I have believed" (2 Timothy 1:12). We are challenged to examine our own lives and recognize the ways Jesus has shown Himself to be alive to us.

• Prayer Focus: Reflect on your life and thank God for specific ways He has shown you that Jesus is alive.

• Connect Activity: A guessing game where each person describes something and gives a reason they know it is alive, highlighting the concept of "life."
• Explore the Word: Discuss why Luke wrote his Gospel and the book of Acts (Luke 1:1-4; Acts 1:1-3) and how Luke 24:36-43 illustrates the reality of the resurrected Jesus.
• Prayer Focus: Pray for each person in your circle to know Jesus as a living Savior, and then pray by name for those who do not yet know Him personally.

3. Church Family (Evening Meeting)

  • Praise: Praising God for the qualities of Jesus found in Isaiah 53.
  • Confess: Private confession of sin, reflecting on Isaiah 53:5.

Day 2: Align with Kingdom Priorities​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 1:6-8

Theme​

A call to shift our focus from personal, earthly concerns to God's ultimate priority: being empowered by the Holy Spirit to participate in His mission of salvation for the world.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Disciples' Question vs. Christ's Mission: The disciples were preoccupied with political restoration and earthly power ("Lord, will You at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?"). Jesus redirects their focus from when His kingdom would come to what they should be doing until then.
• The Ultimate Priority: God's top priority is the Great Commission. Jesus clarifies that their - and our - primary calling is to be "witnesses... to the end of the earth" (Acts 1:8). This mission is the "great missionary charter of Christ’s kingdom" (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 28).
• The Source of Power: We cannot fulfill this priority in our own strength. The essential prerequisite is to "receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you" (Acts 1:8). Success in God's mission depends on acting under the authority and in the name of Jesus.

Day 3: Meet Jesus When He Surprises Us​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 1:9-11

Theme​

Living with joyful anticipation and urgent preparation for the sure yet unexpected return of Jesus Christ, focusing on the personal hope and transformation this promise brings.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Certainty of His Return: Jesus' ascension into heaven (Acts 1:9-11) was not an end, but a guarantee of His physical, visible return. The angels promised He would come back "in like manner."
• The Surprise of His Timing: His coming will be sudden and unexpected, "like a thief in the night" (Matthew 24:42-44). The parable of the ten virgins (Matthew 25:1-13) teaches that what matters is not knowing the time, but being in a constant state of readiness through a personal, daily-filled relationship with Him.
• The Hope of His Promise: The second coming is the ultimate source of Christian comfort and hope (1 Thessalonians 4:16-18). It is the "blessed hope" (Titus 2:13) that motivates holy living and faithful service, as we know we will be reunited with our Savior forever.

Day 4: Humbly Come Together in the Mind of Christ​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 1:12-14

Theme​

Achieving genuine unity within the church family by embracing the humility of Christ, which leads to heartfelt repentance, mutual forgiveness, and a collective focus on mission.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Foundation of Unity is Humility: The disciples in the upper room, a group that included Jesus' mother, brothers, and former rivals, could only unite by first humbling themselves. This involved confessing their unbelief and missteps, leading to a deep, shared repentance (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 36).
• The "Mind of Christ" is a Servant's Heart: True unity is not about uniformity but about adopting the self-emptying, humble attitude of Jesus described in Philippians 2:5-8. This means valuing others above ourselves and letting go of all desire for supremacy.
• Forgiveness is Non-Negotiable: Unity requires putting away all differences and forgiving one another "just as God in Christ also forgave you" (Ephesians 4:32). This Christ-like forgiveness is the practical outworking of having a humble heart.

Theme​

Experiencing the full, saturating presence of the Holy Spirit through heartfelt repentance and persistent, faith-filled asking, recognizing this as God's essential gift for power and holiness in the Christian life.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• God's Eager Promise: The baptism of the Holy Spirit is not a limited-time offer but a perpetual promise for all believers (Acts 2:39). God the Father is more willing to give the Holy Spirit than earthly parents are to give good gifts to their children (Luke 11:13).
• The Pathway is Repentance: The Day of Pentecost model shows that the fullness of the Spirit is given to those who are convicted and respond with repentance (Acts 2:37-38, 3:19). This involves a wholehearted "entire surrender of the will to God" (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 51).
• A Daily Need, Not a One-Time Event: We are encouraged to pray daily for the "fresh baptism" of the Spirit. The lack of spiritual power is not due to God's restriction, but to our failure to appreciate, ask for, and obey this gift (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 50).

Day 6: Boldly Stand for Christ and Follow Him Fully​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 2:14; 4:1–31

Theme​

The transformative power of the Holy Spirit to replace human fear with holy boldness, empowering every believer to become a fearless and effective witness for Jesus Christ.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Source of Boldness is the Holy Spirit: True courage to witness does not come from self-confidence but from being "filled with the Holy Spirit" (Acts 4:8, 31). The same Peter who once denied Jesus out of fear was transformed into a bold preacher because the Spirit "animated him and spoke through him" (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 46).
• A Transformation of Character: This Spirit-filled boldness is coupled with a change in heart. The impulsive, self-reliant Peter became "modest and self-distrustful," his courage now rooted in a deep, converted connection to Christ (The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 62, 63).
• The Church's Prayer for Courage: When faced with opposition, the early church did not pray for safety, but for greater boldness to speak God's Word (Acts 4:29-31). This should be the model for our prayers today—asking for courage to share the gospel "anywhere, anytime, at any cost."

Day 7: Disciple Children and All Generations to Speak for Jesus​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 2:17,18

Theme​

Fulfilling the end-time prophecy of Joel by intentionally mentoring and empowering every generation - especially children and youth - to be Spirit-filled witnesses for Christ, starting in the home.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• A Prophecy for All Generations: The outpouring of the Holy Spirit in the last days, as prophesied in Joel 2 and quoted in Acts 2, is explicitly intergenerational. It includes "sons and daughters," "young men," and "old men" who will prophesy and dream dreams (Acts 2:17-18). God has a "wider, deeper, higher" purpose for children than we often comprehend (The Adventist Home, p. 484).
• The Home is the Primary Training School: God's decree is that "the family shall be the greatest of all educational agencies" (The Adventist Home, p. 182). Parents are called to be intentional agents of God, learning from Scripture themselves in order to teach their children "by precept and example" to follow and share Jesus.
• Healing Relationships for Effective Mission: The message of Malachi 4:5-6 to "turn the hearts of the fathers to the children" is a precursor to the Spirit's outpouring. Healing family relationships and turning hearts toward one another is essential for the church to be unified and effective in its final mission.

Day 8: Love Our Family of Faith as Jesus Does​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 2:41-47

Theme​

Cultivating a practical, sacrificial, and Spirit-filled love within the church family that mirrors the selfless love of Christ, transforming the community into a powerful witness to the world.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• Love in Action, Not Just Word: The early church demonstrated their love through radical, practical means—sharing possessions, providing for the needy, and fostering daily fellowship and unity (Acts 2:44-45). This love was expressed in "unselfish words and deeds" aimed at kindling the same love in others (The Acts of the Apostles, p. 547).
• The Source of This Love is Christ: This level of love is not humanly possible; it is the result of being united with Christ and obeying His "new commandment" to love "as I have loved you" (John 13:34). It is a love magnified by the power of the Savior's own righteousness (Testimonies for the Church, vol. 8, p. 241).
• A Sign of the End-Time Church: This selfless, unified love is the "blessed state" that God intended for His final prophetic movement. Had the church historically accepted this call to love and holiness, the "Spirit and power of God" would have been manifested as in apostolic days (The Great Controversy, p. 379).

Day 9: See and Care for the Forgotten​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 3:1-10

Theme​

Developing the compassionate heart of Christ to actively notice and minister to the marginalized and overlooked people in our communities, moving beyond programs to personal, Spirit-led engagement.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• Spirit-Empowered Sight: The transformation of Peter and John after Pentecost shows that the Holy Spirit gives us new eyes to truly see people in need (Acts 3:1-4). Before being filled with the Spirit, they passed by the same man; afterward, they stopped and engaged. This highlights that effective ministry starts with a Spirit-filled willingness to notice and care.
• Christ's Method of Personal Ministry: The model of Jesus, which we are called to follow, is one of mingling with people, showing sympathy, ministering to their needs, and winning their confidence (The Ministry of Healing, p. 143). This personal, relational approach is more impactful than impersonal programs.
• Ministering to Jesus Himself: Jesus identifies so closely with suffering humanity that every kind act done for "the least of these" is accepted by Him as if done to Him personally (Matthew 25:40). Caring for the forgotten is, therefore, a direct form of ministering to Christ.

• Explore the Word: Read Matthew 25:31-46, focusing on who Jesus calls us to care for and how He personally identifies with them.
• Prayer Focus: Pray for eyes to see people in need as if they were Jesus Himself and to care for them accordingly.

2. Family/Friend Circle

• Connect Activity: Discuss needy individuals in the local community and reflect on why we don't all notice the same people.
• Explore the Word: Read Acts 3:1-4 and connect it to Acts 2:4, discussing what enabled Peter and John to finally see the man in need.
• Prayer Focus: Pray for Jesus' heart for forgotten people.

3. Church Family (Evening Meeting)

• Worship in Prayer: A structured prayer time focusing on Christ's example:
  • Thanks: Thanking God for Jesus' personal ministry (Matthew 9:35).
  • Repent: Confessing our lack of compassion and asking for forgiveness (Matthew 9:36).
  • Ask: Asking God to send us into His harvest to care for people in need (Matthew 9:37-38).
• Testify: Sharing experiences from the previous day's challenge of meeting a need within the church family.
• Connect Activity: Sharing personal stories of when a stranger showed compassion, and discussing its impact.
• Worship in Word: Small group discussion on how "seeing" the crippled man led Peter and John to care for him in Acts 3:1-10.

Appeal & Challenge: A call to seek Jesus' compassion for the forgotten. The 24-Hour Challenge is to ask God to identify a forgotten person in your community, discern their need, and go minister to them in Jesus' name before the next meeting.

Day 10: Practice Radical Generosity​

Scriptural Foundation: Acts 4:32-37

Theme​

Culminating the journey of being "UNLEASHED" by embracing a Spirit-filled lifestyle of radical, joyful, and sacrificial generosity, viewing all resources as tools for advancing the gospel.

Main Teaching & Lesson​

• The Source of Generosity is the Spirit: The liberality of the early church was a direct "result of the outpouring of the Spirit" (The Acts of the Apostles, pp. 70, 71). It was not human effort but a supernatural transformation that replaced covetousness with a common interest in Christ's mission.
• A Heart Transplant, Not Just a Wallet Adjustment: True generosity springs from a heart filled with the love of Christ, which values the souls of men above earthly wealth. It is the practical outworking of having "one heart and one soul" (Acts 4:32), where believers willingly hold their possessions loosely for the sake of the community and the Great Commission.
• The Key to Apostolic Power: The scripture directly links the believers' radical generosity with the "great power" with which the apostles witnessed (Acts 4:33). When the church today practices the selfless principles of the gospel, the same power that marked the apostolic era will attend its efforts (Thoughts from the Mount of Blessing, p. 137).

• Connect Activity: Act out a sacrificial gift someone has given you, focusing on the love and sacrifice behind giving.
• Explore the Word: Read Acts 4:32-33 and discuss the connection between the Holy Spirit's power and the church's generosity.
• Prayer Focus: Pray for the Holy Spirit to fill each person with the joy of giving sacrificially to advance God's mission.

3. Church Family (Final Evening Meeting)

• Worship in Prayer: A reflective prayer time:
  • Tell (Testimony): Share what God has done during the 10 Days of Prayer (Psalm 78:4).
  • Repent: Confess forgetting God's blessings and ask for forgiveness (Psalm 78:5-7, 11).
  • Ask: Pray for a heart like the Father's, to give generously as He does (Psalm 78:23-24).
• Testify: Share experiences from the previous day's challenge of ministering to a forgotten person.
• Connect Activity: A two-part discussion on what would be easy versus most difficult to give away, examining the heart behind possessions.
• Worship in Word: Small group discussion on the motivation for the early church's generosity (Acts 4:32-37) and how it would transform our community today.

Appeal & Challenge: A final call to surrender all - time, talents, possessions, and influence - to advance the gospel. The culminating 24-Hour Challenge is to ask God for a specific, sacrificial gift of time, talent, or money to further the gospel and to give it joyfully and immediately.
