The Second Coming refers to Jesus Christ's return as described in the Bible. Unlike His first coming as a baby, this will be a literal, personal, visible, and worldwide event. Jesus promised to return to bring His followers to heaven and destroy sin and Satan.

Key Issues:

  1. Literal Event: Jesus will descend on a cloud, and the righteous dead and living will rise to meet Him.
  2. Personal Encounter: It's about reuniting with Jesus, who prepares a place for believers in heaven.
  3. Visible and Worldwide: Every eye will see Him, and His coming will be a global event.

Timing of the Second Coming

No one, not even angels, knows the exact time of His return. Our focus should be on living in readiness.

Biblical Prophecies

Revelation and other scriptures vividly describe Christ's triumphant return, symbolising hope and the fulfilment of God’s promise.

Adventist Hope

The Second Coming is central to Adventist faith, representing hope for a perfect future with Christ. The movement began by studying these prophecies, leading to a revival in personal and group devotion.

Preparing for the Second Coming

Believers prepare by maintaining a relationship with Jesus through prayer, Bible study, and living a life reflective of their faith. Engaging with a community of believers and avoiding secular temptations is also vital.

Adventists hold the Second Coming as a cornerstone of their faith, awaiting Christ's return with hope and preparedness.
