I would like to request for your intervention on behalf of my neighbour and our estate shopkeeper, Anne, an elderly lady whose son has a psychiatric issue. It started about two years ago while he was in school, he was then sitting his end of first year exams at the university. His mother was called and informed that he had an episode and was rushed to the hospital where he was medicated until he stabilized. The episodes keep recurring, making it impossible for him to go to school. The latest one started about 4 months ago, which made him mute and only resorted to using sign language. I never knew what was happening because sometimes I would find him in the shop and he would attend to me without a fuss. I learnt about all this yesterday when I found the lady at the shop and she narrated to me the progress of the situation. She showed me a video she had taken when the young man was under attack, he would march on the spot while rotating the whole night provided he is manned. When he gets a chance to escape, he would disappear at night forcing them to search for him the whole night, sometimes only being able to find him the following day in the evening. At this time, he would be dirty and without his shoes.
His case is currently being handled by a psychiatrist (they were referred by Egerton University health department). She told me that he is getting stable and was able to talk yesterday for the first time after four months. He was the one leading prayers in their ward!
I know how hard it can be, seeing your child suffering and you cannot really help them much. The mother is in pain. This is why I would like your intervention through prayers for the young man. That God may heal him and restore that which has been lost.
